Samsung Galaxy S24’s Korea pre-orders off to a record start

Pre-orders for the Samsung Galaxy S24 in South Korea have reached a new high, local media reported. Around 1.2 million devices were pre-ordered in the first week, surpassing the Galaxy S23 lineup’s 1.09 million mark for the same period.

ETNews reports that the company is on track to reach 36 million shipments of the new flagships, which would be a new high since the 30 million-record launch of the Galaxy S10 and Galaxy S10+ five years ago.

Samsung is increasing interest in its devices not only online but also in physical stores as people flock to experience the phones in person and check out the new AI features. A carrier has officially confirmed that over 60% pre-orders are for the Galaxy S24 Ultra.

While interest in the new Galaxy S24 phone is strong, it still lags behind pre-orders for the Galaxy Note 10, which stood at over 1.3 million in August 2019. A Samsung spokesperson confirmed the breakthrough, but pre-order details will be revealed later in January 30 launches in the market.
